Description:

This is a Chat app. It supports user and group chats and it displays who is online. (not online on the system, but online in the app)

The app uses a Comet lib to retrieve the messages in real-time.

It also supports plugins. During September I'll release MSN, GTalk and Facebook Chat plugins. If you want/need a plugin for other type of IM, I'll be glad to help you develop it.

ONchat requires SQLite.

The CPC packages doesn't have the sound files, although you can add them yourself. On my system, when I extract the files from the CPC eyepackage it says that it's 180KB, but that's wrong (because it has too many folders), that's why I created the uncompressed eyepackage which is a tar archive instead of tgz.

It's never, when I have time for that it will be too late and eyeOS 1.x will be deprecated (they stopped developing it an year and a half ago...)

I don't think that eyeos 2.x will have a great future so I'm not interested in loearning how to dev for it.

The 1.x version is still being developed by Lars and also many others. Have a look at the forum and see what's going on. I'm still pushing 1.x forward as well.So are the guys from Kuggaa. Waht I thin kwould be great is to have on chat run like a deamon (something like the facebook chat)so it is always on and you can see when ever another user comes online. I have it as a strat up app now and advice my users to minimize it but keep it open. But you know how user are. They close it by mistake and then don't see other online. Maybe you can come up with something for that. It's one off the best app's for eyeOS. Congrat's

I really would like to continue this app, but I have been really busy. Unless someone pays me to develop it, I won't develop it.
