Description:

This is a Chat app. It supports user and group chats and it displays who is online. (not online on the system, but online in the app)

The app uses a Comet lib to retrieve the messages in real-time.

It also supports plugins. During September I'll release MSN, GTalk and Facebook Chat plugins. If you want/need a plugin for other type of IM, I'll be glad to help you develop it.

ONchat requires SQLite.

The CPC packages doesn't have the sound files, although you can add them yourself. On my system, when I extract the files from the CPC eyepackage it says that it's 180KB, but that's wrong (because it has too many folders), that's why I created the uncompressed eyepackage which is a tar archive instead of tgz.

Not working on my side... the previous version didn't work either. I'm Running the latest Beta Preview 1 of eyeOS

I forgot to write that it needs SQLite. In the next version it will check if SQLite is installed

It doesn't seem to work on my home box (eyeOS 1.8.6.2) sqlite is installed and configured, when someone else is in the room it still says 'There isn't anyone else online'. It would be great if this was fixed.

thx for this great app but there are a few bugs:
1. There is a Full Screen button but it doesnt do anything
2. The maximize button maximizes the screen but doesnt move the scrollbar.

Then I have some ideas for future releases:
1. Make it run as a system app (<type>System</type>) and add a little icon to the taskbar (next to the eyeos button) so that you can make it autolaunch and let people open the window just like xfire or WLM.
2. Make the app look a little more proffesional by adding custom groups.
3. Remove the public chatrooms. Let people invite others to join the chat (like WLM)

Tested it intesively and it doesnt seem to work on Google Chrome nor IE6. Are you still developing this?

There's a bug that prevents the window from being correctly resized :S

Starting today, I'll work on ONchat 2.0, this version will include a more stable comet and plugins for WL messenger, GTalk, Facebook chat and IRC.

Do you get any error? Please describe what happens.

Is it installed on a server that I can access?

well first, my knowlege about php or anything else are very poor at this time i'm only trying to work EYEos on a friend's web server OVH

-There no error message at the install
-to compare to your screenshot, no group appear at the left of the window
-at startup of the app (plugin on) it says : THERE'S NO ONE ELSE ON LINE and LOGGED OUT
-at startup of the app (plugin off) only : THERE'SNO ONE ELSE ON LINE
- i try both computer (with <> IP and <> username) to connect and nothing...

could i send you my pass for root ?

You should keep the plugin on. That's problably hapening because no one is logged in on the same server, try to login with 2 different accounts on 2 different browsers.
